Andy - At 14 we were used to jumping and diving around. We're just getting old, Charlie. I slept on a couch this past weekend and woke up sore as hell. This is a Murtaugh list situation, "I'm too old for this s***"
Charlie - I am NOT too old for goalkeeping. Shit, I could still be a contender How old is Friedel? De Gea, I'm coming for your spot
Andy - Friedel's gotta be 462...something like that. I'm pretty sure he built the first goal
Charlie - yeah, I've got time to develop Actually, the goalkeeper on the other team had some pretty amazing saves and when I went up to shake his hand he was built like an ox so I think there may be some competition on the successor to Tim Howard
Andy - He's got a long way to go. Or did you mean you? Cuz you have longer
Charlie - Once I learn not to land ass-first when I dive, I bet I'm halfway there. but yeah, It's a pretty long flight to Liverpool
Andy - Haha
Charlie - ...especially since you have to change over in Heathrow, get a connecting flight
Andy - You don't trust British rail?
Charlie - I forgot that was a thing, (the) infrastructure in europe is different than in america, here you'd just get in a big-rig if you wanted to go up the coast.
Andy - You could just fly right into Manchester, that generally works out well. Ask Bayern Munich
Charlie - Are you talking about the man city/bayern CL game?
Andy - You're more clever than I thought
Charlie - Man City could have used a little more cleverness in the final third.
Andy - I'm kinda enjoying this implosion at Man City, Man United and Chelsea...It won't last, but still...
Charlie - you know, I was thinking about it, and it seems to me that we should have been saying this all summer long. the game of managerial musical chairs that went on at the end of last season almost guaranteed that this would happen. Moyes isn't used to having money or a wealth of talent (sorry Toffees; you're in my heart). Man City seems to have a slightly haphazard approach to the transfer market. Chelsea seems to be the only one that I'm surprised is having trouble. This type of thing is their MO Arsene Wenger must be feeling good.
Andy - You bring in one guy, and he makes all the difference
Charlie - And it's funny, because all the supporters were "spend the money, bring in a big player" which ozil definitely is, and that's not really the way wenger does things.
Andy - We has a system, that system works (*he no we)
Charlie - Bout to say, when'd you become a gooner?
Andy - Speaking of which I think I talked your girlfriend into letting us scout our next opponent
Charlie - My girlfriend isn't a gooner. I mean, she really hates Tottenham...
Andy - Umm, thats random...why?
Charlie - it's a long story, but involves birds, and an aspersion to tater tots. er, aversion
Andy - Sorry I asked. You watching anything today?...or tomorrow?...or Saturday?
Charlie - I'd love to see Everton give Man City a run for their money early on Saturday, but I'll be at the C-Ville Farmer's Market. I think Bayern Munich did us a huge favor in shaking Joe Hart's confidence, and we'll see how reactionary Pelligrini is (again) in his lineup it seems like a lot of miss-matches in the Premier League Hull City/Aston Villa could be interesting
Andy - Especially with Aston Villa having beaten Man City last week and Roberto Martinez beat them in the Cup final with Wigan
Charlie - Red Bulls/Revolution play Saturday Night. And, something we can watch on NBCSN, the Sounders face the Rapids What do you think about that matchup.
Andy - NYRB vs Revs is a big game with major play-off implications. Sounders dropped the ball last week, they should've beaten a depleted Red Bulls squad I like the rapids but they are waning, not waxing. It'll be interesting to see if Dempsey plays in this one, he's missed a few lately and I expect he'll get called into the USMNT camp on Sunday. Red Bulls and Seattle need to win as they are in the final push for the supporters shield.
Charlie - And DC united, won the US Open? Care to explain?
Andy - DC's back 4, CM pairing and GK had the games of their careers, and they jusy shut down RSL's attack. The goal was just lucky, it was their only chance. Any Given Tuesday, right?
Charlie - In that case, I think SOCA teams should be given berths in the tournament. Although I would dread blocking shots from Thierry Henry
Andy - We'll just have to play all our games on turf, he'd never play
Charlie - Okay, Speaking of which, I'm only playing keeper in my turf shoes
Andy - Does it help?
Charlie - It keeps me from rolling my ankle in the short and pock-marked box. I actually rolled it twice in the first half I think that may be the reason my legs are so sore: I had to change the way I stood for another hour after I'd done it.
Andy - Well you might wanna get some padded gear this week. Crozet elementary has a TERRIBLE field. There is a few inch deep hole and rocks scattered around in one of the keeper boxes
Charlie - Yay, do we know for sure jack is out?
Andy - Not if he can help it
Charlie - Cool. This mononucleosis has me panting after twenty yards, so i don't know how much use I'll be in the field
Andy - Well one of you needs to win the job tomorrow. This ain't UVA football, I'm not putting an "or" by anyone's name on the depth chart
Charlie - Hahahahaha
